چکیده

امروزه منطقه‌گرایی و همکاری‌های منطقه‌ای بستر مناسبی برای تحکیم قدرت حکومت‌های ملی فراهم آورده است و کشورهای مختلف، توسعه همه جانبه خود را در سایه همکاری‌های منطقه‌ای جستجو می‌کنند. بر همین اساس، سازمان‌های مختلفی در قاره آسیا شکل گرفتند، ولی اغلب نتوانسته‌اند اتحادیه‌ای پایدار و موثر در فرایند تصمیم‌سازی جهانی شکل دهند. این پژوهش به روش توصیفی- تحلیلی به بررسی دلایل عدم شکل‌گیری همگرایی موثر و کارآمد در مناطق جنوب شرق، جنوب و جنوب غرب آسیا می‌پردازد. سوال اصلی این پژوهش عبارت است از "اینکه چرا در مناطق جنوب شرق، جنوب و جنوب غرب آسیا اتحادیه‌ای پایدار و موثر در فرایند تصمیم‌سازی جهانی شکل نگرفته است؟". این مقاله بحث می‌کند که یکسری عوامل ژئوپلیتیکی- جغرافیایی، سیاسی، اقتصادی، فرهنگی و ادراکی، مانع انسجام سازه‌های منطقه‌ای در جنوب شرق، جنوب و جنوب غرب آسیا می‌شوند. همچنین منطقه‌گرایی در این مناطق از نوع سنتی است و شکل دولت به عنوان یکی از مهمترین عوامل در سنتی بودن منطقه‌گرایی عمل کرده است.
