چکیده

بررسی سیر تحول روابط میان هند و آمریکا بیانگر روابط پر فراز و نشیب میان آن‌هاست. بااین‌حال از دهه 1990 به دنبال تحولات اقتصاد جهانی و اتخاذ سیاست اقتصادی بازار­محور، هند در مسیر بازسازی روابط خود با ایالات­متحده گام برداشت. بعلاوه سیاست توسعه روابط اقتصادی با کشورهای نوظهور در دوره کلینتون، راه را برای جهت­گیری مجدد ایالات‌متحده در برداشت­های خود نسبت به هند هموار نمود. با وجود ملاحظات سیاسی و استراتژیک دولت بوش و پیشرفت­های بعدی در روابط دوجانبه، هرگونه چشم­انداز بلندمدت همکاری میان ایالات‌متحده و هند، لزوماً باید اهداف اقتصادی و استراتژیک را در نظر بگیرد. بر این اساس در مقاله حاضر سعی شده تا با استفاده از روش کیفی رابطه میان همگرایی اقتصادی و منطق استراتژیک که نه‌تنها موجب افزایش شکوفایی اقتصادی، بلکه بهره­مندی اهداف استراتژیک دو کشور شده، مورد تجزیه‌وتحلیل قرار گیرد. لذا در مقابل این سؤال که تحولات اقتصادی در عرصه جهانی، چه تأثیری بر مناسبات هند و ایالات­متحده داشته­اند؟ می­توان این فرضیه را مطرح ساخت که تحولات اقتصادی و بازارهای جهانی موجب وابستگی متقابل و نزدیکی هند و ایالات‌متحده و درنتیجه افزایش انعطاف­پذیری آن‌ها در عین اهمیت یافتن صف­بندی­ها برای دستیابی به اهداف استراتژیک شده است. یافته­های مقاله نشان می­دهند که نیاز ایالات­متحده به شرکای بین­المللی در ایجاد اتحادهای حمایتی، و تلاش هند برای کسب خودمختاری استراتژیک از طریق همکاری با ایالات­متحده و همزمان مصون­سازی این تجدید ساختار از طریق روابط نزدیک با دیگر کشورها، به معنای افزایش وابستگی متقابل و گسترش بی­سابقه روابط هند و آمریکا است.
